Since its inception in 1985, Pelican Flight Training Center has grown considerably in size and reputation and has attracted favorable media interest both locally and internationally. We have developed a reputation for offering quality instruction, a friendly atmosphere and a good value. Pelican Helicopters is based at North Perry Airport in Florida.
Our services include a Top Quality helicopter training school, Fort Lauderdale and Miami sightseeing tours, and aerial photography for both professional & amateur photographers.
The people who operate Pelican Flight Training Center have a wealth of knowledge in the aviation industry. Years of experience teaching pilots, managing an airline and of course, thousands of hours of flying makes the staff at Pelican Flight Training Center specially equipped to teach students. This diverse background of aviation knowledge provides students with a breadth of knowledge few other private schools can match. Furthermore, an informal and friendly atmosphere provides a pleasant environment in which the student is encouraged to expand his or her horizons beyond merely meeting FAA requirements.
Captain Terry Fensome, Chairman and CEO of Pelican Flight Training Center has experience in all facets of aviation. His career in aviation includes eighteen years in the Royal Air Force and twenty eight-years in the airline industry serving as a line pilot, owner, and operator. His teaching career extends from Oxford CSE, Singapore, Hong Kong and the United States. He has trained pilots in aircraft up to and including DC-10. Furthermore, he is certified as an examiner by both the U.S. and British aviation governing agencies. Serving as President of Laker Airways and Arrow Air, his combined aviation experience allows him insight into what makes a flight school successful. Both a service to the public and a potential recruiting ground for the airlines. The quality of staff and instruction are instrumental in achieving this high standard of excellence in the aviation industry.
